Write 31 Days, Day 17

Not long ago, I heard the phrase, “experience absence”.

I wrote it down and carried it with me. 

“Experience absence”.

To feel the absence of something means to have felt its presence.

Because see, there was a time I hadn’t recognized the vacancy. 

It just was.

And I didn’t know that it wasn’t.

But now isn’t before.

It’s after.

It’s strikingly different.

And now I know when it isn’t.
